About the Exhibition
The Korea Ceramic Foundation is co-hosting with the European Ceramic Work Centre (EKWC), the Korean International Ceramic Biennale 2021 Guest Country Exhibition, < A Story Beyond the Sea: Dutch Ceramics Now >, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the Republic of Korea and the Netherlands. Dutch contemporary ceramics was born of exuberant curiosity and the efforts of the artists who explored the infinite potential of clay as a medium and who strived to apply different concepts and expressive methods to their creations. These artists navigate through genres including contemporary art, design, video, and photography expanding the spectrum of traditional ceramic art. This exhibition highlights the landscape and development of Dutch ceramic art over the past 60 years and especially showcases artworks that best reflect the creative and conceptual in Dutch contemporary ceramic art.
